Founder’s Paper

A concise invitation to formalise a working Altima ecosystem—protecting its purpose, recognising what has already been built, and funding the next stage.

Freedom Ownership Continuity
01 / Why Altima

The computer should belong to the person using it.

Altima began with a simple objection: personal computing has become less personal. Ownership has too often been replaced by subscriptions, privacy by surveillance, and useful tools by systems that depend on permission from somewhere else. Altima draws a different boundary: the operating system and local data remain under the user’s control, while subscriptions are reserved for additional commercial capability and service.

Altima restores the computer as an instrument of independence. It is built around local files, local applications, open standards and systems that continue working even when the network, vendor or founder is no longer present.

This is not nostalgia. It is a practical response to a world in which individuals, businesses and small nations increasingly rent the tools upon which they depend. Altima proposes another direction: capable technology that can be understood, repaired, extended and owned.

01 Own the machine.
02 Own the files.
03 Run the intelligence locally.
04 Connect without surrendering control.
05 Use open standards and documented principles.
06 Build systems that survive their founders.
02 / Already Built

Not merely an idea.

Altima is already a working ecosystem. The first public release appeared approximately one year ago; the Trixie Edition on 26 July 2026 marks its formal public launch, not its beginning.

Much of the core work already exists—including Altima Desktop, ROKPOS and the supporting identity, publishing, payment and provisioning architecture. New capital is intended primarily to formalise, commercialise and scale that work.
Commercial boundary: Altima Linux 13 remains freely downloadable and usable as the base operating system. AltimaOS is the commercial layer above it—licensing optional business applications, managed services, support and connected capabilities. Revenue is earned by adding value, not by placing the user’s computer or local files behind a paywall.

03 / The Structure

A structure designed to endure.

The purpose, ownership and commercial work of Altima are deliberately separated so no single sale, investor or generation can quietly undo the whole project.

Altima Foundation

Protects the Constitution, Manifesto, principles, name, trademarks, standards and certification.

←
Ownership

Altima Systems Holding Trust

The Foundation protects the mission. The Trust holds the economic ownership. The Company builds and trades. Gotoogle Pty Ltd remains a separate Australian service provider under documented commercial agreements.
04 / Why Vanuatu
Small nations should not merely consume technology designed elsewhere. They should be able to create, own and export it.

Altima is intended to be a genuine Vanuatu technology enterprise: founded here, administered here, serving local customers first and building outward into the Pacific and the wider world.

Vanuatu is not presented as a novelty. It is the point. The country offers the scale, independence and urgency required to ask what useful technology should look like when it is built by people for people rather than platforms. A demonstration of independence - because its achievable.

The ambition is practical: create capability, employment, ownership and durable technical knowledge in a nation more commonly treated as a market than a maker.

05 / Founder Contribution

Recognising what already exists.

Altima was conceived, financed and developed over approximately six years before formal external funding. That contribution is recorded separately from future salary, dividends and investment.

Historical founder

Klaas Sybranda

The Founder Contribution includes software, source code, architecture, brands, documentation, commercial systems, research and substantial unpaid labour. It is recorded in a Founder Contribution Register at an initial notional value*.

* To be determined.

Founder Units

Issued by the Holding Trust in recognition of the Founders' Contribution. They represent continuing ownership and are not a substitute for future remuneration.

Co-Founders

One or more exceptional people may be invited to join as Co-Founders. The title is conferred by invitation and accompanied by the acquisition of an agreed Founder Interest.

Benchmark Founder Interest

The initial benchmark is To be determined , paid to the Founder for an agreed transfer of existing Founder Units. Any additional investment into Altima is a separate transaction.

20% Founder Contribution purchase from each approved cash investment, subject to disclosure, agreed limits and legal advice.
80% Working capital retained to formalise, commercialise and expand Altima.
06 / The Founding Circle

Different roles. One undertaking.

Altima needs guardians, builders, capital and exceptional long-term commitment. These roles may overlap, but each carries a distinct responsibility.

Provide commercial discipline, oversight and accountable leadership.

Detailed duties, unit rights, transfer restrictions, funding terms and legal mechanics belong in the Constitution, Trust Deed, Founder Participation Agreement and Investor Memorandum—not in this paper.
07 / The Next Stage

From working project to durable enterprise.

The roadmap is no longer about proving that Altima can be built. It is about making the existing work reproducible, supportable, commercially sustainable and independent of any one person.
